University Ministry

University Ministry is for everyone in the Stritch community! We offer a variety of opportunities for prayer, reflection, spiritual enrichment, and service.

We strive to live spiritually-enriched lives by:

  • Praising the Creator

  • Affirming the human dignity of each and every person

  • Working for justice

  • Protecting equality and peace

  • Engaging in conversation

  • Exploring our religious and faith traditions and beliefs

  • Celebrating creation, diversity and creativity

  • Recognizing the sacramental in all of life

  • and Praying consistently for Love to overcome our hearts

Celebrations are held throughout the year acknowledging the influence of Sts. Francis and Clare and other Franciscans who have inspired us. University Ministry provides many different options for Spiritual Growth.

Liturgical Ministries at Stritch invite several levels of participation. Students are welcome to serve as lectors, cantors, gift bearers, Eucharistic ministers, and greeters for Masses and other prayer services.

In the model of St. Francis, Stritch offers many opportunities for service. University Ministry is committed to practicing peace and justice in light of our Catholic, Franciscan values. We provide educational experiences along with actual action to eradicate injustice through Catholic Social Teachings.

Each year, Stritch focuses on one of the four Franciscan values we cherish. Find out what this years focus is for our Franciscan Value of the Year.

Mission Integration is charged with exploring how the University engages its Catholic, Franciscan identity in all facets with programming for students, staff and faculty.

The Franciscan Servant Scholars program and scholarship is designed for full-time undergraduate students who seek to develop their faith and grow in service as they discern a career path.

The LDRS Initiative program helps strengthen academic performance through linked courses, academic coaching, success sessions and academic advising while fostering a sense of community through retreats, service experiences and mentoring.

Stritch takes part in a variety of Franciscan Pilgrimages to Assisi, Italy that visit the major sanctuaries associated with St. Francis and St. Clare. Pilgrims participate in rituals, prayers, Eucharistic celebrations, historical visits and lectures.
